the light is changing.

this evening light reminds me of honey, somehow.

when i woke at 6 this morning it was fully dark outside; i was surprised by the darkness, and also by how quickly the light emerged.  i notice lately, when i come into the kitchen in the morning to put away the dishes and start the lunches and begin to make the morning, that i have to turn on the lights, when just a few weeks ago i was working by daylight.  i don't much care for overhead light, and some friends have me thinking about a lamp in the kitchen.

i've been working around our house recently, arranging and re-arranging and moving in, in a different way seven years later.  maybe i'm preparing for the indoor months?  but seeing the autumn light fall across the piano and this little chair, it seems just right.
